About Laprom Movers
Laprom Movers is a licensed, family-run moving company based on Sherman Way in Reseda. Victor Reyes started it in 2015, and he is still the one you will end up talking to if you call the office. The pitch is simple and we have not changed it: our own trucks, our own crew, a written price before we start, and a team that actually pulls into your driveway at the time we promised.
How Victor got here
Victor grew up in the central Valley, a San Fernando Valley kid, a few blocks off Reseda Blvd, the kind of neighborhood where families rent the same walk-up for fifteen years and then move three streets over. After high school he went to work for one of the big national van lines. The trucks were nice and the brand was everywhere, but customers were a ticket number; nobody on the crew knew the difference between a careful move and a fast one, and Victor hated handing people a final bill that was nothing like the estimate. He left for a small two-guys-and-a-truck operation thinking it would feel more personal. It was worse — a crew that showed up two hours late or not at all, furniture that came off the truck scratched, and an owner who shrugged when things broke. By 2015 he had seen enough of both ends. He bought a truck, pulled together a couple of guys he trusted, filed for the permits, and started Laprom Movers to run Valley moves the way he thought they should be run: on time, padded, insured, and honest about the number.
The crew and the trucks
Eleven years in, we run eight trucks and a staff of about fifteen: roughly a dozen full-time, uniformed movers, plus the office. These are W-2 people who have moved Valley apartments and hillside homes for years, not a roster of strangers booked for the day. They know how to walk a sofa down a narrow Reseda stairwell, how to back a truck up a tight Encino canyon driveway, and how to pace a load on a 102°F August afternoon so nobody gets hurt and nothing gets dropped. Victor or one of the leads still talks through most jobs before they go on the calendar.
Licensed, insured, and by the book
In California, household-goods movers are regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission, and we hold a California PUC household-goods carrier permit (Cal-T #) plus US DOT/MC authority for the interstate runs. Before any move we give you a written estimate and the CPUC “Important Information for Persons Moving Household Goods” booklet, because that is what California requires and because it keeps everyone honest. Released-value coverage is the standard $0.60 per pound, full-value protection is there if you want it, and we carry cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment.
Why the Valley keeps calling
We are not trying to be everywhere. We are the Reseda mover that knows the parking-permit corridors off Ventura Blvd, the CSUN-area apartment churn every quarter, the Warner Center buildings that want a COI before move day, and how to time a load around the 101 and the 405 so you are not paying for our truck to sit in traffic.
