Reseda to Bakersfield Movers

Reseda → Bakersfield, CA · one crew loads in Reseda then drives it and sets it down at the destination, all on a single written flat rate.

Reseda to Bakersfield Movers

Bakersfield has become a release valve for Valley renters. More square footage, a lower mortgage, and an easier commute draw families up Highway 5 every month. At 110 miles it is one of our shorter long-distance runs, and Laprom Movers keeps it simple: the crew that loads your home in Reseda drives it up and unloads it in Bakersfield. No warehouse stop, no second carrier taking over partway, no waiting around for your shipment to catch a different truck.

Up the 5 over the Grapevine

The route out of Reseda runs onto Interstate 5 and climbs the Grapevine — the long, steep grade over the Tejon Pass that tops out around 4,100 feet before dropping into the southern San Joaquin Valley. It is a real mountain pull, and the descent on the far side is the part we respect most: the load has to be strapped and balanced so nothing budges on the downgrade, and the truck has to take the hill at a sensible pace. Our drivers run this climb constantly, so the Grapevine is routine for them, not an adventure. In winter we keep an eye on storm closures over the pass and adjust the day if we have to.

What comes with the move

  • The same Laprom crew loads in Reseda, drives the Grapevine, and unloads in Bakersfield
  • A binding written quote — the price is set before the truck leaves the Valley
  • Blankets, shrink wrap, dollies, and tools for stairs or a tight driveway on either end
  • Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment; standard $0.60/lb released value, full-value protection optional

We move under a California PUC Cal-T household-goods permit with US DOT and MC authority on file, running our own trucks and our own uniformed movers, never a broker passing your job along. A Canoga Park apartment heading for a house in southwest Bakersfield, a Northridge home bound for the northeast side: either way you get a firm estimate first and a crew that keeps its word on timing. What Our Long-Distance Clients Say

Straight From the Road

★★★★

“Booked them for a Tarzana apartment move and mostly they were great. On time, careful, friendly, and the deposit came right off the total like they promised. One nightstand got a small scuff that the lead pointed out to me before I'd even spotted it, which I respected. Knocking off a star for that but I'd still recommend them.”

“We had a full Van Nuys house plus a garage packed with tools and gym equipment. The 3-mover crew at $239/hr powered through it without breaking anything, and trust me there were some awkward heavy pieces. They disassembled the bed frames and put them back together at the new house in Northridge. The lead kept me posted on the running time so the final bill was no shock. Genuinely impressed with how organized these guys are, you can tell it's an actual company that trains its people and not a pickup-truck gamble.”

“Small Woodland Hills studio, fast and clean. They showed up early before it got hot, knocked it out, and the rate was exactly as quoted. Lovely crew.”

Route FAQ

Is the Grapevine a problem for a loaded moving truck?
Not for our drivers. They run the Tejon Pass on the 5 all the time. The load gets strapped and balanced in Reseda so nothing shifts on the climb or the descent, and the truck takes the grade at a measured pace. The only real wildcard is a rare winter storm closing the pass, which we watch for and work around.
Can a Reseda-to-Bakersfield move be done in a single day?
Yes, almost always. At 110 miles it is a short haul, so we load in the morning, clear the Grapevine, and have most homes unloaded the same day. Only an unusually large house or a heavy packing job would push it longer, and we would flag that when we quote.
Do you move into the newer Bakersfield subdivisions on the southwest and northeast sides?
We do those regularly. Some have HOA move-in windows or gated entrances, so we confirm any access rules and gate codes ahead of time. The newer streets are usually wide and easy for the truck, which makes the unload quick.
