Northridge Movers

A Reseda-based crew working Northridge and the rest of the San Fernando Valley.

Northridge Movers

Northridge runs on a calendar. CSUN sits right in the middle of it, and the rentals and shared houses around campus turn over hard every August and again in spring — leases ending, roommates splitting, parents driving in for move-in week. Add the single-family neighborhoods that were rebuilt after the 1994 quake and the shopping pull of the Fashion Center, and you get a part of the Valley that moves constantly. Laprom Movers is a few minutes south on Sherman Way, so we are close enough to handle the back-to-back student jobs and the bigger family moves alike.

CSUN and the rental churn

Student moves near Cal State Northridge are usually small, fast, and stacked tight against a lease date. We do a lot of one-room and one-bedroom jobs around Reseda Blvd and Nordhoff, and the hourly crew is built for exactly that. Apartment complexes around campus mean stairs, shared loading zones, and August heat, so we push for morning slots and bring enough hands to keep the carry moving.

Family homes and the rebuilt streets

The post-quake neighborhoods north of Roscoe are full of single-story and rebuilt homes with garages, real square footage, and full households to pack. These move on the flat-rate bands and often want a packing day first. We bring the boxes, wrap the furniture, and load it ourselves — no handing the job to a stranger.

  • One-room and one-bedroom student moves, hourly, timed to your lease date
  • Full single-family homes near the Fashion Center and north of Roscoe
  • Apartment stair-carries with extra crew during the August rush

Local rate is $175 an hour for two movers and a truck, $239 for three, with blankets and dollies included. Flat bands run $470 to $680 for a studio, $720 to $1,080 for a one-bedroom, on up to $2,880 to $4,260 for a four-bedroom house. A $150 deposit holds the date and applies to your total, and you get a written estimate and the CPUC booklet before you sign. Laprom Movers holds a California PUC Cal-T permit plus US DOT and MC authority and runs its own crews and trucks. Book at (888) 711-4778.

Northridge Reviews

★★★★★

“Great experience moving within Sherman Oaks. Showed up on time, wrapped the TV, didn't waste a minute. The $175/hr rate was clearly explained before we started. No complaints at all.”

“Good crew, hard workers. I'm knocking off a star only because there was a small scuff on one bookshelf, but I'll say this: the lead pointed it out to me himself before I even noticed and offered to note it, which is more honesty than I've gotten from any mover. The Winnetka-to-Granada-Hills move was otherwise smooth and they finished close to the estimate. I'd hire them again knowing they own up to things.”

“I rented my own truck and just needed muscle to load it in Panorama City. Two guys, $175/hr labor only, no equipment minimum nonsense. They Tetris-packed that truck so tight nothing shifted on the drive. Saved me a ton of money doing it this way.”

FAQ

My CSUN lease ends the same day my new one starts — can you do a same-day swap?
That's most of what we do near campus in August. We block a morning slot, clear out the old place, and deliver to the new one the same afternoon. Tell us both lease dates when you book and we'll build the day around them — and book early, because that week fills up fast.
It's a third-floor apartment near Nordhoff with no elevator. Extra charge?
No surprise surcharge — the stairs just mean the carry takes longer, and the hourly rate covers that. For a walk-up we'll often suggest a three-mover crew so the job doesn't drag, and we'll go over that when we quote it.
Can you pack a whole house, not just move it?
Yes. For the family homes north of Roscoe we'll do a packing day before the move — we bring the boxes and wrap and box everything ourselves. It's a separate labor line, and we'll fold it into the written estimate so there's nothing unexpected on move day.
